Saturday 28 February Site visit to Fort St Angelo, by kind permission of Fra' John Critien, Knight Resident at Fort St Angelo and Heritage Malta. Meeting at 2 pm at the upper part of the fort, accessible by car. Fra' John will be guiding members round the upper part of the fort. At 3:30 members will visit the lower part, courtesy of Heritage Malta, and will be taken down a ladder into the oubliette, the windowless cell said to have been Caravaggio's prison in Malta. Please provide your own torch.

You drive up the hill to Wardija from the Burmarrad end, turn left at the top, pass a school to your right, get to Castello dei Baroni further along on the right and drive up the narrow road, past a little chapel wedged in on the right. The Cremonas' house is on your left where the road widens past the chapel.
This will be followed at around 12:30 by a tasting with oil, pressed by Mr and Mrs Cremona, bread, gbejniet, olives and dried tomatoes with wine. Price for oil tasting Euro5 payable at the door. Members may choose to attend only the presentation. Please email Tricia Camilleri on pmcb17@gmail.com by Wednesday 25 March to inform her of your intention to stay on for the oil tasting.

the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Classical Studies at the American School of Classical Studies Athens. Children in Athenian Funerary Art during the Peloponnesian War
Professor Oakley has made the study of Greek vase painting the focus of his academic work and draws on vase painting for the basis of this lecture.

On Saturday, 28th October 2006, as part of our Grundtvig Course in Archaeology, we are organising a tour (weather permitting) around the Grand Harbour in a traditional Luzzu boat with Dr Timmy Gambin. Dr Gambin will be describing the fortifications and historical background to the many features of the Grand Harbour.
