Human impact on the Maltese environment from the Neolithic to the 15th century AD, inferred from a scientific study of sediments from Marsa, Malta.
Saturday 27 January Site visit led by Fr Eugene Teuma OFM. Conv. to St Francis Friary, the Marian Sanctuary and Hospital, Rabat. The friary is the oldest surviving residence of a religious order in Malta. Meeting at 2 outside the friary.

Saturday 28 April Site visit led by Dr Andy Welsh to the Msida Bastion Garden of Rest. Meeting at 2 outside the gate. The easiest way to get there is down the side road of the Phoenicia (Excelsior side), turn left to Beltissebh library and drive on just beyond the library. The garden is to the right and a field to park in to the left.

On Saturday, 28th October 2006, as part of our Grundtvig Course in Archaeology, we are organising a tour (weather permitting) around the Grand Harbour in a traditional Luzzu boat with Dr Timmy Gambin. Dr Gambin will be describing the fortifications and historical background to the many features of the Grand Harbour.

Dr Timmy Gambin will lead a walk through the plain of Burmarrad. Meeting place: the Salini catacombs, by the chapel off the main road on the other side from the salt pans.
The walk should take about 2-3 hours, one way.
